The Rural Electrification Authority (REA) has made progress in powering rural areas by technically commissioning two projects in the northern region. These projects aim to improve access to electricity, which will boost local economies, improve daily life, and create new opportunities for growth.

In Luwingu district, the Authority has constructed a 113-meter High-Tension (HT) and 6.5 kilometer Low-Voltage (LV) lines to provide electricity to support essential services in schools, health centers, and local businesses. Two 50kVA transformers have been installed to provide stable electricity to the community.

In Nchelenge district, has completed construction of 480-meter HT and 8.7-kilometer LV lines, and has installed a 100kVA transformer in Chieftainess Kanyembo’s area. The electricity infrastructure will improve electricity access, helping households, farms, and public facilities thrive.

These projects highlight REA’s commitment to bringing reliable power to remote areas, contributing to rural development and improved living standards for residents in rural communities.

By expanding electrification in rural Zambia, REA is helping create brighter futures for these communities.
