The Rural Electrification Authority (REA) has embarked on a nationwide Perception Survey aimed at understanding stakeholder understanding on its projects, services, and overall impact in rural Zambia.

The survey will cover all ten provinces, with carefully selected samples to ensure the findings represent diverse communities and contexts.

REA Manager – Corporate Affairs Justine Mukosa explained that the exercise is a critical step in understanding how communities perceive rural electrification efforts and where improvements can be made.

“For us as REA, the survey is an important feedback tool. It allows us to hear directly from the people we serve, their expectations, challenges, and appreciation of our work. This information will guide how we plan, implement, and communicate future projects,” said Mr. Mukosa.

He further encouraged citizens in sampled areas to participate actively.

“We are calling on everyone selected for this survey to cooperate fully. Your honest feedback will help us improve, expand access to electricity, and deliver solutions that meet your real needs,” he added.

The survey teams will be engaging households, community leaders, business owners, and key stakeholders to gather both qualitative and quantitative insights.

Findings will be used to enhance REA’s strategic planning, strengthen partnerships, and align rural electrification projects with community priorities.

REA remains committed to transparent, inclusive, and responsive service delivery, ensuring that electricity access becomes a driver of social and economic growth in every rural province.
